The student has completed HV108 at the academy and completed the Sa level.

<ul>
<li>To practise the Chota Khayals in Ragas Brindavani Sarang, Khamaj, Yaman, Des, Kafi, Alhaiya Bilaval, Bhimpalasi, and Bhairav with simple Aalap and Taan within the Bandish</li>
<li>To develop an understanding of Raga Characteristics of  Brindavani Sarang, Khamaj, Yaman, Des, Kafi, Alhaiya Bilaval, Bhimpalasi, Bhairav, Durga and Bhupali.</li>
<li>To practise to perfection, at least two of the own compositions like Sargam Geet, Tarana or Geet </li>
<li>To review the Bol and Theka of Taal Teentaal, Roopak, Bhajani, Jhaptaal</li>
<li>To develop awareness about Tanpura and Tabla which are mandatory for vocal music</li>
<li>To develop an understanding about instrumental music with an introduction to Sitar.</li>
</ul>
 Learning Outcomes
The student is able to

<li> sing with the Tanpura and Taalmaala maintaining Shruti and taal</li>
<li>apply the concepts of voice culture exercises done in the form of various Swara exercises and Alankars</li>
<li>sing basic Alankars iand Swar Prastar/Sapat Alankar in every Raga</li>
<li>sing Swar Vistar in the Ragas given</li>
<li>present Chhota Khayals with Aalap and Taan, at least 3 each</li>
<li>recite the Theka for the Taals mentioned</li>
</ul>

This course provides the reference material for the second level examination at the academy, the Re level. With the introduction of the concepts of Swar Vistar, the understanding of each Raga is more clear. Along with the Pakad the student has awareness of Nyas Swaras and the key Swar Samoohas. The variety of compositions incudes a Jhap Taal Bandish in Raga Durga, a Dhrupad and a rare Trivat in Raga Bhupali. The Ragas introduced are Brindavani Sarang, Khamaj, Yaman, Des, Kafi, Alhaiya Bilaval, Bhimpalasi, and Bhairav
